Engaged

I’m getting married! For real. I asked my girlfriend Sheila on June 27 if she would marry me and she said yes. It was a sweet and simple proposal. Sheila was totally aware that it was coming but had no expectations of when it was coming. All it took for preparation was an extended lunch. I bought some champagne and flowers and printed some pictures. When Sheila got home there was a note on the door explaining that I wasn’t home, but she should go in anyways. This was important because I didn’t want her to have to call me. Once inside she saw that there was a note on the table. I put the envelope under a rose to make sure she saw it. The note said some nice things, but more importantly there was a picture of this really nice bridge near our house where I was waiting patiently for her to show up. She made her way over to the bridge and I was right in the middle on top of the arc waiting. She walked up and I said some really nice things and got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes so I gave her the ring (it’s a really nice ring btw). Then I opened the champagne and lit up a cigar and we chatted until the bottle was done, then headed to a nice Italian restaurant for dinner. So there you have it.
